Late Dr. David J. Powell<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
The late Dr. David J. Powell<\/strong> was President of the International Centre for Health Concerns, Inc. In this role he trained and consulted worldwide on substance abuse, management and leadership issues, and behavioural health. The following is a brief background on his international work by continent and country of effort since he began working in the behavioural health field in 1965. He trained in all 50 U.S. states and over 85 countries.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dato' Dr Andrew Mohanraj<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Associate Professor Dato' Dr Andrew Mohanraj Chandrasekaran MBBS (Calicut); MPM (Malaya); Fellowship in Community Psychiatry (Melbourne); AM (Malaysia); IARC Psych (UK), served the Ministry of Health Malaysia for 10 years before taking up an international assignment after the Asian Tsunami of 2004. He has done pioneering work in the establishment of sustainable psychosocial rehabilitation and community mental health services in Indonesia, the Philippines and Timor Leste.\n

\nHe actively advocates for the mainstreaming of persons with chronic mental illness through the Malaysian Mental Health Association of which he is the Deputy President.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Late Prof. Dato' Dr. Mahmood Nazar\n<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Prof. Dato\u2019 Dr. Mahmood Nazar Mohamed is the Professor of Psychology at CUCMS, a prestigious Malaysian university. He has also published many scientific papers - which can be read here: https:\/\/repo.uum.edu.my\/profile\/mahmood<\/a>. He is also a regular speaker in all Psychological Conferences in Malaysia and Asia.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Marc Fishman<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Marc Fishman<\/strong> M.D. is an addiction psychiatrist and a member of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine<\/a>. He is the Medical Director of Maryland Treatment Centres, a regional behavioural healthcare provider, which offers programmes for residential and outpatient treatment of drug-involved and dual diagnosis in adolescents and adults. He is a national expert on addiction and co-occurring treatment and, in particular, adolescent treatment; youth opioid addiction; placement and treatment matching strategies; psychiatric treatment for co-occurring disorders and medication treatments for addiction.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Nhu To Nguyen<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Nhu To Nguyen<\/strong> is currently serving as an Associate Director for the Family Health International Organisation<\/a> in Vietnam-FHI360, where she is responsible for the overall HIV and drug use intervention programming, ranging from interventions for active drug users to medication-assisted therapy; Methadone Maintenance Therapy Programme (M.M.T.).<\/p>\n

Dr. Nhu is also involved in the drug addiction-building programme to respond to the increasing need for psychosocial and drug counselling support. She obtained a full scholarship from the Buffet Foundation<\/a> and the Fogarty HIV\/AIDS training programme to complete her Master\u2019s degree (in 2004) and Doctorate degree in Epidemiology (in 2007) from the University of California,<\/a> Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.). Dr. Nhu passed the International Certification Examination in October, 2012 on Addiction Medicine and has been granted I.S.A.M. certification<\/a>.<\/p><\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. David Mee-Lee<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Dr. David Mee-Lee<\/strong> is a Board-certified psychiatrist and is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM)<\/a>. David has trained and consulted for hundreds of organisations, ranging from small mental health centres to government departments and national behavioural healthcare companies. David has also authored a number of book chapters and papers in a variety of professional publications. He is Chief Editor of the ASAM<\/a> Patient Placement Criteria and is the Senior Vice President for The Change Companies<\/a>. David's medical, psychiatric and addictions training began in his home country of Australia. From there it took him to Ohio, Massachusetts, Hawaii and eventually California. He has trained and consulted in almost every US state, and his international work has taken him to Australia, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.K.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Associate Professor Munidasa Winslow<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Associate Professor Munidasa Winslow<\/strong> has worked in general psychiatry and addiction medicine at the Institute of Mental Health Singapore<\/a> since 1988. He was one of the pioneers responsible for the setting up and development of addiction services both in the hospital and in the community. His last appointment was as chief of the Addiction Medicine Department, IMH. Dr. Winslow has been a pioneer in addiction and impulse control disorders (alcohol, substance dependence, gambling, gaming, sexual compulsivity, etc) in the Asia-Pacific region. He is a sought-after speaker at addiction conferences around the region. He has published and presented widely on both general psychological and addiction issues. He continues his academic and research interests through his academic appointments with the National University Hospital, Singapore<\/a> and teaching at many counselling courses. Dr. Winslow is also the founder and Executive Director of Promises Pte Ltd.<\/a>, which is a mental health and addictions consulting and training company established to help healthcare professionals and individuals in Singapore.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Jeffrey Poh<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Dr. Jeffrey Poh<\/strong> is a counsellor and psychotherapist by training and, in private practice, he is also a certified meditation instructor. His early training in the art of meditation started in his early twenties when he was admitted as a member of the Rosicrucian Order (AMORC)<\/a>. There he underwent instructions in the art of focusing and concentration. He graduated to become its Singapore Chapter Master. Jeffrey also engages meditation practices with those who are incarcerated and prison authorities have expressed that those practices do benefit the inmates. Recently, he has incorporated the use of meditation into counselling and psychotherapy sessions and he has designed a methodology which he termed as \u201cMeditative flow<\/em>-Psychotherapy:\u201d a system of meditation that involves the use of life energy and imageries. This technique uses psycho-education when practitioners are in meditative state and they are \u201cguided\u201d to the topic of meditation. He has authored two books: \u201cThe Buddhist Companion\u201d and \"The Buddhist Snippets.\u201d Under preparation is his new book: \u201cThe Framework of Meditative flow<\/em>-Therapy.\u201d He has also written many articles related to the subject of meditation, the latest of which was published in the October 2013 issue of the Journal of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Besides his academic qualifications in Counselling Psychology, Jeffrey holds two diplomas in Buddhist studies, various certificates related to meditation subjects and is a fully certified Meditation Instructor by the American Institute of Health Care Professionals<\/a>.<\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
