Oman’s Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Finance, has partnered with Al Salwa Care and Health Services to improve addiction treatment and rehabilitation. This agreement focuses on expanding and managing the Al Taafi Suhar Centre, making it a top facility for helping people recover from drug and substance addiction. This move strengthens Oman’s healthcare system by bringing in private sector expertise.
This partnership is also a major milestone for Solace Group, a well-known global rehabilitation provider, which won the project tender in 2022. It is the world’s first public-private partnership (PPP) in rehabilitation, showing Oman’s commitment to using international best practices. With Solace Group’s experience, the Al Taafi Suhar Centre will offer high-quality treatments, advanced rehabilitation methods, and strong support for long-term recovery.
Under this agreement, Al Salwa Care and Health Services will provide addiction treatment, psychological and social rehabilitation, and upgrade the center’s facilities to meet top standards. A new detoxification unit will also be built, ensuring better care and support for those struggling with addiction.
This collaboration is a step forward in Oman’s efforts to improve healthcare through public-private partnerships. The goal is to create a model for future projects, bringing in more innovative healthcare solutions. With this agreement, Oman is working towards reducing addiction rates, improving mental health services, and building a healthier society for the future.
