Solace Sabah has made another important step forward, by certifying the first batch of Recovery Support Coaches in Malaysia.
Attending the graduation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on July 28th was Solace’s Clinical Director Dr. Prem Kumar Shanmugam and other key individuals and collaborators attached to the Malaysia’s first private addiction treatment centre.
Accredited by the Solace Academy and other boards, the Recovery Support Coach course is an intensive nine months internship designed by Dr. Prem Kumar Shanmugam, to provide those in recovery from addiction or those who already won their battle against addiction, the opportunity to not only acquire a skill, but also continue to practice recovery by offering their services and sharing experiences with people who are still suffering from the disease.
The internship has given the graduates first and foremost the Recovery Support Coach title, accompanied by a number of skills to coach and mentor individuals to address various areas in their life impacted by the addiction.
Further to that, Recovery Support Coaches are now qualified to address the spiritual quadrant of the individual by focusing on skills training, consultations, coaching and simply being present for the person requiring help.
Since its inception in the year 2014, Solace Sabah has been the point of reference to those seeking addiction treatments in the country. It’s dedicated in-house Clinical Team works tirelessly to help those whose life has been affected by an addiction.
Solace Sabah also actively conducts numerous community projects with the Malaysian public in an effort to battle substances addictions, an issue unfortunately rather common in our modern society.
